The West Coast Surf Club are delighted to announce its 4th year of their Longboard Competition and BIC Sports 7’9” Beginners Classic on Saturday and Sunday 15th and 16th September 2007, in Lahinch Co Clare. These two major events in Ireland’s surfing calendar are set to attract over 200 longboard surfers to Lahinch, following the huge success of the other years competitions. Entries are now closed. Prizes for the Longboard competition include: 1st: Trip to South Africa, with 1 weeks accommodation in Saltrock Lodge J- Bay 2nd 9’4” Erdinger/ Cequential Longboard 3rd Billabong Wetsuit and various other prizes
Prizes for the BIC Sports 7’9” Beginners Classic Sponsored by BIC Sports include: 1st 7’9” BIC Sports Board 2nd 7’3” BIC Board Bag 3rd BIC Sports Bag This year’s host pub for the event is the Shamrock Bar where a dvd will be shown on the Friday night, followed by music and entertainment on the Saturday night with a video replay of the days surfing, a great weekend in Lahinch is assured. This year we welcome Brian McEvilly and his wife Illa who are going to give a great display of Tandem surfing to the crowds. Order of events Friday 14th, DVD in the Shamrock Inn from 9.30pm followed my music Sat 15th - 8.30 am start, safety briefing. Please remember to show your ISA cards. Voucher will be given out to all entrants for lunch in "Greens". Display around lunchtime of tandem surfing by European silver medalists (representing Ireland!) Brian McEvilly and his wife Illa. In the evening Entertainment in the Shamrock Inn, this years host venue from 9.30pm music by James and Mark Sun 16th - Finals and prizegiving The event is being organised by WCSC members, Cliodhna Fawl, Seamus Garry, Alan Black and David Collins.
